Combat Paintball: Digital Redesign
Elevating Combat Paintball’s online presence to the next level.

Project Focus & Key Features
For my first second-year project, "Evaluate and Iterate," I was tasked with redesigning a single screen of an e-commerce website. I chose Combat Paintball in Thetford to have more creative freedom with colour and imagery. The brief focused on improving user experience, allowing me to explore tools like Figma. With just under four weeks, I aimed to address usability issues rather than focusing solely on aesthetics.
The site had issues such as broken links, a confusing checkout process, and inconsistent colours. My main goal was to improve the checkout flow, simplify the interface, and tidy up the content. Success was measured by how easily users could select a package or book an experience.
Design Approach & Results
I streamlined the site by fixing broken links and applying a cohesive, accessible colour scheme. User testing was key throughout the process to ensure the design improvements were effective. I conducted competitor research and created low, mid, and high-fidelity prototypes, each iteration building towards a more intuitive user experience.
To enhance the checkout flow, I introduced a pop-up checkout that kept users on the product page, reducing friction and increasing the likelihood of conversion. I also made the site more screenreader-friendly and reworded content to align with the updated brand tone. Interactive features like hover animations and a paintball splat effect were added to keep users engaged.
Outcome & Future Improvements
The project resulted in a final high-fidelity site, prototypes, and thorough research documentation. The redesign significantly improved usability, addressing core issues and creating a more enjoyable user experience. In the future, I would expand the site’s content and explore tools like Webflow or Framer to further enhance the project.
